The Style: Past and Recent Works by Junjie Verzosa Opening Reception December 18, 6-9PM

The Artlink A. E. England Gallery is proud to present a month long solo exhibition by Junjie Verzosa titled, The Style: Past and Recent Works. The opening reception will commence on third Friday, Dec 18, 2009 from 6-9 PM. Verzosa’s work explores the integration of ancient and modern cultural symbols and motifs within the media of oil painting.

Junjie Verzosa was born in Manila, Philippines and lived in Canada for 15 years before moving to Arizona. He majored in Painting at the Philippine College of Music and Fine Arts. He was a resident artist of the Heritage Art Center and an active member of the Art Association of the Philippines. His past solo exhibitions include the Queens Park Gallery in New Westminster, B.C. and The Firehouse Gallery, in Phoenix, AZ. Verzosa has been shown at the Shadbolt Center for the Arts, Thought Crime Miami Artworks, Kollektive Art and Design Group, the Gilbert Historical Museum, and most recently the Steele Pavillion Art Gallery, Herberger Theater Center.

The newly dedicated Artlink A. E. England Gallery is in its third month of operation. The gallery is a partnership between Artlink and the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation, enriching the community through arts and culture. The Curators Alison Sweet, Cory Weeks and M. Jenea Sanchez are local artists, active within the Phoenix Metro arts community. The Artlink A. E. England Gallery is located in the Historical A. E. England Building in Civic Space Park.

The Artlink A. E. England Gallery hopes to see you this First Friday for the closing reception of Paco Velez: Asi Son Mis Dias/Borderline Survival. The gallery will be open from 6-10 and Velez will be performing during the night.
